The best tapenade

🇫🇷 Chef Chez François’ Tip for Preparing the Best Tapenade! 🫒✨

Bring the flavors of Provence to your table with this simple and delicious homemade tapenade recipe!

Tapenade is a traditional Provençal spread made with finely chopped olives, capers, herbs, and other flavorful ingredients blended together with olive oil. It is the perfect appetizer served with fresh bread, crackers, or as a delicious addition to a charcuterie and cheese platter.

Easy to prepare, full of Mediterranean flavors, and always a crowd favorite—your guests will love it!

👨‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

In a small food processor, combine:

🫒 2 cans of black olives (approximately 300 g total), pitted and drained
🌿 2 tbsp chopped capers
🌿 2 tbsp dried thyme
🧄 6 large cloves of garlic, chopped (adjust according to your taste)
🌱 2 sliced scallions (spring onions)
🐟 6 anchovy fillets
🌿 1 teaspoon capers
🥄 1 teaspoon old-style grain mustard
🌶 ½ teaspoon black pepper
🌶 1 drop of Tabasco
❌ No salt needed—the olives, capers, and anchovies already provide plenty of flavor!

Chef Chez François’ Technique
Mix all ingredients for about 10 seconds. Be careful not to turn it into a purée—the tapenade is much better when you can still enjoy small pieces of olive!

Then slowly add 2 tablespoons of olive oil while mixing for another 10 seconds until you reach the perfect texture.

Serve with warm crusty bread and enjoy a true taste of the South of France! 🇫🇷
