🇫🇷 Valentine's Cooking Class: Mousse au Chocolat

During this class, we will cook together the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE! One of the favorite French desserts of all time is certainly the Mousse au Chocolat. This decadent dessert seems simple to make but you should really follow the preparation method for the best results. Light and fluffy, this chocolate dessert is called “Mousse” because the French word means ‘Foam” in English.

LIST OF INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tablets of 4oz premium baking dark Chocolate (50 to 70% cocoa, unsweetened or bittersweet)
  • 4 Fresh Eggs at room temperature (you will need to separate the yolk from the white into 2 large bowls)
  • 4 tablespoons of Icing Sugar (Confectioners sugar)
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons of Butter
  • 1 Tea Spoon of Ground Coffee (optional)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fresh Raspberries for Garnish, Optional
  • Mint Leaves for Garnish, Optional
  • Flaked Almonds/nuts for Garnish, Optional

LIST OF COOKWARE AND ACCESSORIES:

• 1 Large Bowl • 1 Electric hand Mixer (IMPORTANT ) •  1 Small saucepan with a small bowl to lay above the saucepan • 1 Rubber Spatula • 2 Medium Bowls • Small Ramequins or glass recipients to serve the mousse (4 to 6 depending on the size)
