Cooking Tip #3: How To Keep Your Oven Clean

COOKING TIPS www.chezfrancois.net

PROTECT YOUR OVEN WITH FOIL

Tip For Keeping Your Oven Clean While Baking!

When you bake a dish including sauce, it is possible that some of the liquid will dribble over. This is where baking sheets or oven liners come in. Cover a baking tray with foil and place it under your dish when cooking to catch any falling food/sauce. This will avoid unpleasant smoke coming out of your oven from burning food.
How to keep your oven clean:
  • Choose a baking tray that is larger than your bakeware dish
  • Cover with foil the entire surface of the tray and fold the foil around the edges
  • Use more than one sheet of foil if necessary
  • Place your dish in the middle of the tray
What to do if you notice smoke from the oven:
  • If you notice smoke, carefully take your dish out of the oven.
  • Move your dish onto a wood chopping board
  • Replace the foil and bake the dish again
This is the perfect way to keep your oven clean and avoid burnt greasy patches at the bottom of your oven!
