During this class, we will cook together Le Flan Pâtissier or Parisian Flan. Flan Pâtissier is a classic French dessert that can be found in every good French patisserie. This simple but delicious French Custard Pie has been one of my favorite desserts since my childhood. The vanilla-infused custard with the buttery pastry is a bite of heaven, This is a must to try in French Cuisine.

Pastry:
• 300 grams all-purpose flour (2 cups) and 50 grams for extra use • 150 grams of unsalted butter (1 cup) and 50 grams of vegetarian butter (margarine) at room temperature • 5 tablespoons of cold water • 3 tablespoons of caster sugar
French Custard: • 1 liter of whole milk (4 cups) • 150 grams of confectioners sugar (1.30 cup) • 90 grams of Cornstarch (0.75 cup) • 4 eggs • 1 Vanilla Pod
• 1 Large Bowl • 1 Whisk • 1 Tart Pan (Approx 9" Diameter) • Baking Beans (Pie Weights) or alternatively coffee beans or dried peas such as black-eye peas (only used as weight to blind bake the crust) • 1 Medium Saucepan
